About me.

Nina Italiano is in her 5th year of the Penn State Architectural Engineering program with a focus in Lighting + Electrical design. Nina will graduate with an Integrated Bachelor + Master of Architectural Engineering degree in May 2017.

During her time at Penn State, Nina has held several leadership positions in clubs + organizations. She has been an active member of the Penn State Club Softball team all five years, where she held the position of Player-Coach for two years, serving as Secretary of the team.

Aside from softball, Nina has been avidly involved in Penn State’s Dance Marathon (THON) + has been on the executive board for the Penn State Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) Student Chapter for two years, where she currently holds the position of Secretary.

In past summers, Nina has studied abroad in Rome, Italy, where she obtained her Architectural Studies Minor, as well as had multiple internships in various Architectural Engineering fields and cities. Most recently, she completed an internship for Horton Lees Brogden Lighting Design in the New York City office. While at HLB, Nina assisted her design studio on various projects, conducting lighting calculations, generating lighting layouts + schedules, and created design presentations for clients. She has also interned for BR+A Consulting Engineers and PJ Dick, Inc., as an Electrical Design and Construction Management intern.

When Nina isn’t in the AE studio or on the softball field, you can find her in downtown State College sipping on a cappuccino at Saint’s Café, reading or drawing in her sketchbook.
